Bush (the President)



Ali Fadel, the Mayor of Baghdad, has said the people of Baghdad "... will build a statue of [President] Bush." Why? "He is a symbol of freedom." Mr. Fadel is unaware, apparently, that Mr. Bush is a real person (perhaps viewing him as a Santa-esque character), and also unaware that Mr. Bush's concept of freedom is distinctly Orwellian.

I'm sure the $150,000 bulletproof SUV he's pimping around in has nothing to do with his sentiments.

Though, when talking about death threats, Mayor Fadel commented "My life is cheap ... Everything is cheap for my country," leading me to hope the Bush statue is made of cardboard tubes and Scotch tape. A guy can dream.
